Roundtable on the main migration challenges and European mobility governance.
In a context where migration occupies a central place on Spanish, European, and international political agendas, the Spanish Institute for Migration Analysis (IEAM) joins the European ecosystem for research and policy dialogue on migration. On Thursday, 16 April, IEAM will hold its official launch event at the Sala Europa, within the European Parliament Liaison Office in Madrid.
Founded as an independent space for research, analysis, and reflection on migration dynamics connecting Africa, the Mediterranean, and Europe, IEAM aims to provide a rigorous, strategic, and useful understanding of human mobility. Its work is guided by a strong conviction: the complexity of migration phenomena requires better-founded, better-coordinated responses that are attentive to political, social, and human realities.
The evening will provide an opportunity to officially present the Institute and its first publications, including two recent reports and a series of Policy Papers. It will also feature a roundtable bringing together experts and institutional actors, dedicated to reflection on the main challenges in migration, both at the European level and in the context of cooperation with Africa.
Discussions will focus on migration routes, irregular migration, Euro-African cooperation, and the challenges of European mobility governance, contributing to a dialogue that is informed, useful, and action-oriented.
The event will bring together academics and researchers, journalists, institutional representatives, public administration officials (including European), international cooperation professionals, and field experts working on migration and Euro-African relations.
